Eucalyptus deglupta (Rainbow Eucalyptus) is the only tree in the world with multicolor bark — the outer bark peels continuously to reveal streaks of bright green, blue, purple, orange, and maroon underneath, creating a living abstract painting on the trunk. SWFL Field Performance
Zone 10–11. Full sun. Fast-growing — one of the fastest-growing hardwood trees in cultivation, can gain 3–5 ft per year in SWFL heat. High water requirement especially during establishment. The bark shedding is year-round — fallen bark is part of the maintenance picture; plan accordingly. Not frost-hardy — coastal and southern SWFL only. Not suitable for Babcock Ranch or inland frost zones. Avoid planting where falling bark could stain pool decks or hardscaping.
