Why Contractors Come to Gulfroot
Delonix regia produces the most intense flowering canopy of any tree in South Florida — a full flame-red crown that covers the canopy for weeks. Landscape architects specify it by name for estate and resort entries. The one local competitor (a Naples garden center) has retail-focused content; there is no SWFL contractor or trade page for field specimens. Gulfroot sources through Homestead growers who maintain specimen-caliper stock for contractor projects.
SWFL Field Performance
Zone 10–11. Full sun. Highly drought tolerant once established. Low salt tolerance — inland and mid-coastal sites only; not for beachfront. Semi-deciduous in SWFL — drops leaves in late winter, leafs out aggressively in spring ahead of bloom. Fast-growing once established. Not cold-hardy — southern and coastal SWFL only; not for Babcock Ranch or frost-prone inland zones. Wide-spreading canopy at maturity (40–50 ft) — plan for adequate setback from structures.
Direct from Homestead — not through a distributor.
