Why Contractors Come to Gulfroot
Every Florida nursery sells retail mango. Nobody sources the ones that have been growing for a decade. At estate scale — multi-trunk, 15ft+ canopy, years of established root structure — mango becomes a landscape architecture element, not a plug plant. Naples homeowners and resort designers who want a mango tree that functions as a destination feature in an outdoor kitchen garden cannot find a trade source for it. Retail stock is too small. SWFL Field Performance
Zone 10–11. Full sun. Drought-tolerant once established. Seasonal bearing in SWFL: blooms December–March, fruit ripens May–August. Multiple varieties available (Tommy Atkins, Haden, Kent, Keitt) — specify variety at order for correct fruiting season and fruit characteristics. Not cold-hardy — coastal and southern SWFL only. Well-draining soil essential; susceptible to root rot in poorly drained sites. Allow adequate space for canopy spread at maturity (30–40 ft). Avoid planting directly beneath or adjacent to pool decks where fallen fruit could become a maintenance issue.
