Why Contractors Come to Gulfroot
Gumbo Limbo at estate caliper is genuinely difficult to source in SWFL. Local box stores carry 3G liners. For 25G+ specimens with developed canopy and trunk character, direct Homestead sourcing is the only reliable path. Raymond Jungles' most published Miami and SWFL estate projects consistently include Bursera simaruba as a canopy component — contractor demand from architects is real and local supply does not keep pace.
SWFL Field Performance
Zone 10a–11. Full sun. Moderate to high salt tolerance — performs well on coastal properties. Drought tolerant once established. Fast-growing for a native canopy tree: 3–5ft per year. Hurricane performance is exceptional — branches flex rather than break. Deciduous in cold or dry stress; reflushes quickly. Can be propagated from large branch cuttings, which allows mature-looking specimens to be established rapidly compared to container-grown equivalents.
Direct from Homestead — not through a distributor.
