Why Contractors Come to Gulfroot
Pritchardia pacifica is the Hawaiian fan palm — a broad-leafed, tropical fan palm that estate buyers and resort designers recognize from high-end resort properties in Hawaii and the Caribbean. In SWFL, it is essentially impossible to find at retail or through standard distributors. Homestead specialty growers who work in rare and collector palms maintain limited stock. Gulfroot can source on request — and no other SWFL nursery has a web page for it.
SWFL Field Performance
Zone 10–11. Full sun to part shade. Moderate water. More sensitive to cold than most SWFL palms — coastal southern SWFL only (Naples south). Not suitable for inland frost zones. Responds to regular fertilization in SWFL's sandy alkaline soils. Slower growth rate than most feather palms. Distinctive mature form with large, pleated fan fronds.
Direct from Homestead — not through a distributor.
The same plants installed on Naples estate builds by Precision Landscaping & Design.
