Why Contractors Come to Gulfroot

Morella cerifera is the first native the county asks for and the first one contractors need to source in volume. It meets native vegetation requirements across Lee, Collier, Charlotte, and Sarasota counties. On large residential and commercial projects, a single landscape plan can call for hundreds of Wax Myrtles in hedge runs. Homestead supply is consistent at all sizes — Gulfroot sources direct and can fulfill volume hedge runs faster than going through a distributor.

SWFL Field Performance

Zone 7b–11. Full sun to part shade. High drought tolerance once established. Very high salt tolerance — native to coastal Florida scrub and hammocks. Fast-growing: 3–5ft per year in ideal conditions. Aromatic foliage; small blue-gray berries attract birds. Evergreen in SWFL. Can be maintained as a tight formal hedge or allowed to grow naturally to 10–15ft. One of the most low-maintenance native plants in the SWFL palette.

Direct from Homestead — not through a distributor.
